‘Roboquest Hackathon’ Organised at The Blind Relief Association Nagpur’s Mundle English Medium School – Mems

         An interschool ‘Roboquest Hackathon’ was organised on 18th and 19th July, 2024 at The Blind Relief Association Nagpur’s Mundle English Medium School under the flagship of AtalTinkring Labs, ATL Sarthi, cluster one, Nagpur Region. Total 60 students of Std. 7th to 10th and their 20 mentor teachers of leading schools of Nagpur actively participated in this first of its unique Hackathon.  It was an effort to make the students aware to build a working prototype of a product or feature in a 30 hour hackathon and to have fun, improve skill set and network, while doing it. A Bootcamp was also organised on 15th and 16th July, 2024 to get the participants equipped with the two themes – Environment Sustainability and Security & Disaster Management. Roboquest Hackathon was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest Shri. Shashikant Chaudhary, Serial Entrepreneur & Angel Investor. The occasion was also graced by Shri Arvind Landhe, RMoC, Nagpur region. Hackathon was spear headed by Harsh Deshpande, Founder of the start-up SKI Labs.

          In this event, students selected one problem statement from the 3 provided to them under each theme. Students have participated in teams. Each team comprised of 3 students and a mentor from the same school. The meticulous and sincere efforts put in by each team was reflected on Day 1 i.e. 18th July 2024. All teams will be demonstrating their projects on 19th July 2024 for final judgements. The judges were Shri. Sandeep Darwhekar, Shri. Milind Mushrif, Shri. Prashant Vaidya and Shri. Abhay Deshpande.  

          The prize distribution was done at the hands of Chief Guest Shri. Tarun Shrivastav, Senior Technical Director, Scientist-F, CGO. In Environment sustainability theme, Somalwar Highschool & Junior College, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur’s Shrigouri Bedekar, Aaradhya Lakhe, Ananya Vyawahare under mentor teacher Sampada Padole, A. M. Pandharipande emerged as winner. The second & third position was bagged by The Blind Relief Association Nagpur’s Mundle English Medium School’s Mihir Gosavi, Kabirraj Tayade, Asmi Khapre under mentor teacher Mrunal Hastak and Sindhi Hindi Highschool & Junior College, Panchpaoli, Nagpur’s Ansh Gupta, Atharv Bagde, Tejas Sonsarwa respectively.

           In Security & Disaster Management theme, Somalwar Highschool & Junior College, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur’s Devak Chaudhari, Malhar Kanago, Yatharth Gondule under mentor teacher Ashwini Mangrulkar, Shruti Kotwaliwale emerged as winner. The second & third position was bagged by Bhavans Bhagwandas Purohit Vidyamandir, Ashti School’s Arhant Dhoble, Ayush Rai, Aditya Agrawal under mentor teacher Sneha Rode and The Blind Relief Association Nagpur’s Mundle English Medium School’s Divij Kalkar, Aditya Vadarevu, Soham Yadav under mentor teacher Smita Gattani respectively. The winners were awarded with trophy & digital certificates.

          The ATL incharge HUB School Ms. Prerna Mehta and ATL team of the school strived hard for the smooth execution of the program. The compering of the program was done by Dr. Mrs. Suchita Malpe and Mrs. Purnima Dixit.

          Regional Mentor of Change, ATL Nagpur region Shri. Arvind Londhe, Chairman Shri. Makarand Pandharipande, Headmaster High School Miss Manjul Mehta, Headmaster Primary Mrs Megha Padhye, Supervisor Mrs Shilpa Dongre and staff members encouraged the participants.
