Food For Thought… The Craft Of Balancing – Mems

We always talk of eating a balanced diet for good health. But have we ever thought of leading a balanced life for a peaceful and blessed present and future? Life is very much a balancing act, and we are always just a step away from a fall. We are constantly trying to move forward to achieve our goals, all the while trying to keep the balance of all the elements of our lives. Rather we all are jugglers, constantly juggling, not allowing any of our balls to fall….

We try to maintain balance in our personal and professional life, balance in our relations, balance in adding spices to food, balance in our diet, balance by sportsman while doing acrobats, balance while riding our vehicles, etc. In short, we need to keep moving and pushing ourselves if we do not want to fail or fall in life…..But in doing so are we compromising on our happiness and inner peace?

To me, balancing means, handling various elements of our life without compromising on our personal happiness.

We know that life is never perfect….

Some time or the other it may have problems….

These problems disturb the balance of our life…..

Suddenly everything goes topsy-turvy….

But let’s remember that these problems are not the end of the world…..

Instead deal the problems like a cricketer, ready to face the ball whether a bouncer or a googly….come what may…. Have the approach that, “This too shall pass away….”

In order to maintain work and life balance lets:

  • Focus on our priorities
  • Get Organised
  • Be Flexible
  • Reserve Time for Ourself
  • Meditate… Take Rest…
  • Establish Support Networks
  • Avoid negativity
  • Turn it off: Disconnect from the outer world
  • Explore the world
  • Laugh, joke, play and take a hobby…..
  • Listen to your body

Following the above, maintain the balance in your lives, be happy and peaceful and take the challenges in your stride. Life will be simplified. This will surely give a headstart and a promising beginning to your lives….

Stay Balanced, Stay Happy…..
